Globe upgrades GCash
MANILA, Philippines – G-Xchange, Inc. (GXI), a subsidiary of Globe Telecom Inc., is set to upgrade its GCash mobile money services to be able to deliver bulk payment services for salaries and government disbursements.
In a statement, customer experience solutions provider Amdocs said it was tapped by GXI for the upgrade of its existing GCash mobile money services.
GCash is among the first mobile wallet services in the world, allowing individuals to turn their mobile phones into a virtual wallet and make payments.
“This key system enhancement will enable us to realize new revenue streams with new services targeting new segments, while boosting GCash’s ability to deliver a highly scalable and efficient mobile financial services solution for consumers, merchants and organizations,” GXI chief executive officer Albert Tinio said.
The upgrade will involve the use of the latest version of the Amdocs Mobile Financial Services (MFS) solution, which will also allow GXI to offer faster and seamless customer service.
For instance, management of transactions will be easier for customers, plus an end-to-end delivery service will also be activated.
For the company, better information analytics and project scope and capacity analyses will help open the platform to further improvements.
GXI has been using Amdocs’ MFS solution for its GCash money services since 2004.
Patrick McGrory, division president for Amdocs emerging offerings, said the upgrade is timely as the Philippine market is increasingly shifting towards more mobile payments.
