Okada’s Tiger Resort appoints new COO

MANILA, Philippines - Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment Inc. announced yesterday the appointment of veteran casino executive Steve Wolstenholme as its chief operating officer.

Wolstenholme said he is excited to run a casino in the Philippines.

“The growing demand for entertainment properties in the Philippines is an exciting challenge and I am honored and delighted to be part of the Tiger Resort team. The company’s objective is to push the boundaries in the industry through innovation to deliver our customers’ needs and wants and this is what I aim to achieve,” he said.

 Prior to joining Tiger Resort, Wolstenholme served as president and COO of Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada.

Over the last two decades, he has been involved in many notable properties across numerous jurisdictions, including key roles in casino resort properties in Ontario, Canada and a senior management pre-opening role in Macau, according to his profile.

In the past, Wolstenholme has overseen several large projects including most recently the $100M capital improvement of a renowned 2000 room integrated resort in Northern Nevada.

As COO of Tiger Resort, he is be responsible in overseeing the business and leading the group toward the opening of the newest Manila resort and casino complex targeted in December 2016.

Casino mogul Kazuo Okada, chairman of Universal Entertainment Corp., said he’s confident Steve would lead the organization in making an impact when the integrated resort opens its doors next year.
