Shares close 0.52 pct higher

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Shares closed 0.52 percent higher today.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 41. 08 points to 7940.49. The all-share index went up by 9.96 points, or 0.22 percent, to 4560.17.

Trading volume reached 3.31 billion shares worth P6.96 billion ($155.37 million).

There were 66 gainers, 117 losers while 37 stocks closed flat.
