Stocks close 1.45 pct higher today

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Philippine shares closed 1.45 percent higher today.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index gained by 101.72 points to 7,131.00. The all-share index also went up by 50.28 points, or 1.21 percent, to 4,200.84.

Trading volume reached 1.37 billion shares worth P18.44 billion ($412.07 million).

There were 123 gainers, 59 losers while 43 stocks closed flat.
