Peso weakens midday Friday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso slipped against the dollar midday Friday, settling at 44.913 from the previous day's 44.85.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $286.2 million in the morning, lower than the $350.5 million posted the same period on Thursday.

The peso opened Friday at 44.9.
