Peso improves midday Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso improved against the dollar midday Wednesday, settling at 44.151 from the previous day's 44.23.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $732.1 million in the morning, higher than the $430.8 million posted the same period on Tuesday.

The peso opened Wednesday at 44.13.
