Cebu Pacific to fly to Riyadh
MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific will launch thrice weekly non-stop flights to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, starting Oct. 1, 2014. It will be the only low-cost carrier flying between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Riyadh service is scheduled to depart Manila at 5:05 p.m. every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in Riyadh at 10:35 p.m. The return flight will depart Riyadh at 12:45 a.m. every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in Manila at 3:40 p.m.
To introduce the new route, CEB holds a P1 seat sale for flights from Manila to Riyadh, from Sept. 8 to 10. Travel period is from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31. After the seat sale, fares to Riyadh start at P3,499.
“We have long wanted to serve the substantial population of Global Filipinos in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It will be our utmost pleasure to bring them home more often, on our extensive network and trademark low fares that are up to 35 percent lower than other airlines,” said CEB general manager for long-haul division Alex Reyes.
“With Dammam, Kuwait, Dubai and now Riyadh, Cebu Pacific’s network in the Middle East is made wider. We offer the most number of seats on this direct route, so there are more affordable and faster flights home for the Global Filipinos working and living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he added.
As per 2012 Commission on Filipinos Overseas estimates, there are over one million Global Filipinos based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
CEB’s flights to Riyadh will utilize the airline’s brand-new Airbus A330-300 fleet with a configuration of 436 all-economy class seats. Its 5th A330 aircraft was just delivered brand-new from the Airbus factory in Toulouse, France on Sept. 2, 2014.
The airline also offers fast and convenient same-terminal connecting flights for guests taking advantage of CEB’s wide Philippine network. Passengers have the option to purchase baggage allowance, seat selection, CEB Air Wi-Fi connectivity inflight and Hot Meals.
Aside from CEB’s long-haul network in the Middle East, CEB also launched its long-haul flights to Sydney, Australia last Sept. 9, 2014.
