Peso sinks on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso plunged against the dollar on Wednesday, closing at 43.42 from the previous day's 43.36.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $513 million, lower than the $579.1 million posted on Monday.

The peso opened Wednesday at 43.44.
