Stocks close 0.91 pct higher on today

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Philippine shares closed 0.91 percent higher today.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index rose by 62.97 points to 6,962.28. The all-share index also went up by 29.50 points, or 0.71 percent, to 4,159.49.

Trading volume reached 2.22 billion shares worth P8.82 billion ($202.22 million).  

There were 93 gainers, 85 losers while 47 stocks closed flat.
