Regina Capital launches online trading platform

MANILA, Philippines - Brokerage firm Regina Capital Development Corp. has expanded its array of services as it became the seventh trading participant to use the online trading platform developed by the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

The launch of Regina Capital Online Investing (ROI) will allow the brokerage firm to tap overseas Filipinos with investable funds, a company official said.

“We want to be one of the pioneers for online trading...we want to grow the online market specifically the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs),” Luis A. Limlingan, head of business development of Regina Capital, said in a briefing.

Regina Capital targets ROI to attract 500 investors with P200,000 to P250,000 in monthly trading volume. So far, Regina Capital is present in the social media space while research materials are available online.

“We get comments from website, most of them are OFWs and they want to come into the market. They have disposable income and they want to diversify,” Limlingan said. In particular, seafarers have shown the capacity and the aggressiveness to engage in stock market investing.
