Peso jumps on Friday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso improved by 6.5 centavos against the dollar on Friday, closing the week at 44.645 from the previous day's 44.71.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $604.5 million, lower than the $542.6 million posted on Thursday.

The peso opened Friday at 44.77.
