Peso strengthens on Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso closed at 45.23 against the dollar on Tuesday, 14 centavos stronger than the 45.37 posted on Monday.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $678.7 million, lower than the $721.9 million posted the previous day.

The peso opened on Tuesday at 45.3.
