Unimart to put up 2nd branch in Ortigas

- Zinnia B. Dela Peña - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Unimart supermarket, owned by businessman Henry Ng, is building its second outlet, located at Ortigas & Co.’s latest mixed-use development in Pasig City, more than 40 years after opening its first outlet at the Greenhills shopping complex.

This further fortifies the good business relationship between the Ortigas family and Unimart.

Unimart will be the anchor tenant at Capitol Commons, a 10-hectare master-planned mixed- use development at the corner of Shaw Blvd. and Meralco Ave.

“We are happy that our partnership with Unimart has grown stronger through time. The brands Unimart and Greenhills Shopping Center have grown hand-in-hand for more than four decades now and we are more than pleased that it will also be the same for our new development, Capitol Commons,” said Rowell L. Recinto, president and chief executive officer of Ortigas & Co.

Located at the former site of the Rizal Provincial Capitol, the project will also include a commercial/retail mall to be called Estancia, with an estimated cost of P1 billion.

Estancia will house the finest international fashion brands and destination retailers, complemented by a selection of delectable dining choices.

Also to rise within the area are residential towers, the first of which is The Royalton which will offer a cosmopolitan and chic lifestyle with its premiere living spaces.

Capitol Commons will make available more than 35,000 sqm of retail space, over 214,000 sqm of state-of-the-art office space, over 280,000 sqm of modern living residential units and a full range of world class amenities such as a hotel, conference facilities and restaurants.
