Manila’s most distinguished diplomats, businessmen and VIPs came together to celebrate Angola consul Helen Ong’s birthday at the the Okada Manila in Entertainment City, Parañaque. Escorted by her son Juliano “B.Y.” Ong and garbed in a stunning white gown by Amir Sali, the well-re- spected diplomat enjoyed the superb performances by Phil- ippine Ballet and Sayaw Foundation. Known for her being a philanthropist and patron of the arts, consul Helen has helped establish many cultural organizations and has sup- ported the Philippine Cancer Society and Cofradia de la Immaculada Concepcion for many years. In his testimonial, Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI) vice chairman Jimmy Laya spoke about consul Helen’s priceless role in so- ciety by making art accessible to underprivileged children.
