Business As Usual

For the betterment of Filipino Opera

BUSINESS CHIC - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

THE FILIPINAS OPERA SOCIETY Foundation, Inc. and the Philippine Opera Company presented an opera concert entitled Totally Tinio held at Bonifacio Global City. Headed by noted tenor Frankie Aseniero – who was also one of the performers – the concert consisted of wellknown arias translated into Tagalog by the late National Artist Rolando Tinio whose body of work covered the stage, cinema, television, print media and the academe. Featured artists in the said concert were sopranos Jade Riccio and Myramae Meneses as well as tenors Christian Nagaño and Nohmer Nival. Seen at the event were Best Dressed Women of the Philippines event chairperson and Angola consul Helen Ong, Togo consul Evie Costa and former Australian consul Hugh Wilson and wife Georgette. The Filipinas Opera Society was founded in 2014 by opera lovers headed by the late Imelda Ongsiako-Cojuangco to encourage the appreciation of classical and Filipino opera and to help in the training of young opera singers. The organization’s present trustees are Fredesvinda Consunji, Marietta Santos, Ma. Cristina Turalba, Danilo Dolor and Dr. Jaime Laya. Cheers and more power to Filipinas Opera Society Foundation Inc.!
