First Pacific Leadership Academy redesigns training program

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Taking pride as the country’s benchmark for holistic leadership development and organizational excellence, the First Pacific Leadership Academy (FPLA), the dedicated corporate university of the First Pacific Group of Companies, progresses into a new phase of growth this 2014 – broadening its in-house expertise with new learning facilities and management consulting services further boosting its commitment to world-class quality of training experiences.

Management consulting services

Transforming into management consulting was the original strategic plan authored by Roy Agustin K. Evalle, FPLA executive director and First Pacific general manager for Leadership Succession and Development. And to witness the realization of his dream transformation for the corporate university, Evalle said, is a challenging phase that is finally happening this year.

“The substantial contribution of our partners made us capable of delivering priorities and a re-engineered organization, a corporate university that one can be proud of as well as leadership interventions and programs which many found world-class,” he said.

Apart from providing businesses a systematic and practical approach in responding to future challenges and opportunities, the Academy’s Management Consulting service provides clients the tools, training and expert advice to effectively harness competitive edge against competition.

“Most if not all decision-makers understand the value of progress, but still, many struggle to recognize opportunities and translate these into meaningful positive impacts for their organization. FPLA comes in as an expert coach and mentor to ensure our clients will develop an integrated range of skills and knowledge that will broaden and deepen their expertise beyond the bounds of the usual scopes of management,” Evalle said.

“Of course, the strategic and very essential way of doing it is to impart with clients the importance of applying the highest ethical standards to every aspect of their business, and how to align these with their organization’s business strategies and operations to ultimately see better results,” he said.

New training facilities

Putting a prime to customer experience and to ensure the continued delivery of world-class training interventions, the academy has made significant upgrades in its facilities, as well as redesigned training program to reinforce the ongoing radical and fast-paced changes in an organization.

One of these important transformations is the opening of its new Academic Center, spruced up efficiently to cater the accommodation requisites of all FPLA employees. Also, the First Pacific Hall has now become more advanced and pleasantly conducive through the installation of motion-sensor lights, touch-pad monitors that control all gadgets and equipment in the room. For added aesthetics, wooden wall cladding was also installed for a more contemporary yet professional vibe to the interiors.

To date, the academy has 19 function rooms that can accommodate groups of various sizes. It is also carefully planning the construction of an extension of the current 67-room FPLA Executive Residences.

As for leadership conferences, the Academy has four Executive Talks slated for 2014, with one major event happening mid-year.  It is also introducing a brand new Leadership Education Plan, which will require highly seasoned facilitators with a solid track record in corporate business practice. And to maintain the Academy’s prestige as a top corporate university, it is beefing up its roster of high-caliber corporate professors or CPs, as well as the continuous information dissemination of the Executive Education calendar of premier partner-universities.

 Training center

By integrating customized management courses and leadership enhancement training programs and state-of-the-art facilities, the ISO-certified FPLA was recently recognized by the prestigious International Association of Conference Centers as being the first and only IACC member in the Philippines and the Southeast Asian region.

The Missouri-based IACC is an international organization whose main thrust is to promote and maintain quality standards in the “conference center and meetings” industry.

This honor, according to Evalle, clearly reflects the immeasurable amount of hard work and dedication poured in by the entire team to make the Academy a top-class learning institute that adheres consistently to IACC’s international quality standards, principles and practices.

“Getting noticed first, invited and passing the stringent IACC screening process is quite arduous, which is why earning such honor must be kept. This seal of accreditation showed our brand of committed service to clients, and affirmed the excellent job that our people have manifested in the pursuit of bringing world-class industry experts and thought leaders to spark and inspire the genius in our country’s leaders,” said Evalle.

As corporate university that offers need-specific corporate programs focusing on Executive and Management Development, Human Resource and Organizational Development and Skills Development Programs, FPLA is indeed well on its way to bringing more significant opportunities and contributions in the shaping of globally competitive industry leaders of today and the future.
