Bright, young EntrePaulinians at Robinsons Magnolia

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – With the ubiquity of food establishments these days, it’s amazing how food stalls still keep cropping up everywhere. Truly, the Philippines has no short supply of gastronomic creativity, even from the young ones.  On Feb. 10, 24 driven and inspired student-companies from St. Paul University-Quezon City will showcase their flagship products to the public in the #EntrePaulinianCorner2016 exhibit to be held in Robinsons Magnolia located along Aurora Boulevard in Kaunlaran, Quezon City.

Composed of Marketing and Entrepreneurship students, this will be the sixth batch of students to take part in SPUQC’s partnership with Robinsons Malls Entrep Corner — an initiative of Robinsons Land Corporation that has been a launch pad for carefullyscreened, student-owned startups from colleges and universities such as Silliman University, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, De La Salle Lipa, and Mapua Institute of Technology, to name a few.

Catering mainly to niche markets, organic, gourmet and healthy seem to be the underlying themes of St. Paul’s University’s students’ bazaar.

Variolicious and Zen Burger bring their A-game with their versions of fresh, organic burgers, while Burger Queen 2.0 purvey flavorful vegetarian burgers made of eggplant and banana blossom.

A feast for the senses awaits foodies as the exhibit overflows with curious desserts: malunggay-sprinkled waffles, dessert biscuits infused with turmeric powder, kalamansi cupcakes, herb and chili-flavored cheesecakes, chocolate “rocks,” pizza muffins, oatmeal balls and wine-laden no-bake cakes.

Paulinians know their artisanal businesses well, too, as true-to-label gems can be found at the fair: handmade pasta, bottled milkfish in olive oil, gourmet bottled tuyo and ready-to-eat milkfish in a variety of classic Filipino dish flavors. Perfectly complementing these savory offerings are palate-cleansing smoothies and juices: Juice It! promises only 100-percent-freshly pressed juice and Smoothie’s Best boasts filling, exotic smoothie blends.

All student-companies were subject to the same screening process as all would-be tenants of Robinsons Mall, helping equip them for their business incubation. Find out how market-ready they are at the #EntrePaulinianCorner2016 exhibit, which will be held in Robinsons Magnolia from Feb. 10 to Mar. 9.
