MANILA, Philippines – The young and vibrant Filipino market has been attracting foreign investors in the country.

The latest to dip into the ever-expanding Filipino market is Taiwan. On Tuesday, May 24, Taiwan’s Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) flew in 15 of the most popular Taiwanese brands to the Philippines to develop their trade and business relations with the Philippine market.

Starting May 23 to 29, Filipino shoppers will be able to check out the products through a curated exhibition at the Glorietta Mall dubbed as "Wow! Taiwan Selects Pop-up Store."

The Philippines is the store’s first stop in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this year. Next stops will include Indonesia and Vietnam.

The store is set in an energetic atmosphere accompanied with bright lights and lively sound system to fit the taste of the millenials. As explained by Josh Kang, director of Wow! Taiwan Select’s Department of Global Marketing and Consulting Division of Marketing Research, the concept is patterned after the young Philippine market.

From delicacies, cosmetics, fashion, technology and modern household goods – below are some of the products you can check out and sample at the pop up store.

Dr. Morita, a facial mask brand, has sold 30 million pieces worldwide.

Naruko makes natural skincare products. They are known for their eco-friendly products that are fit for all skin types.

Hydron, the top Taiwanese contact lens brand has more than 100 colors of contact lenses to make you standout.

City Color is a brand known for its affordable fashion cosmetic products - high quality products without the high prices.

Taiwan Beer is an authentic Taiwanese beer in classic and fruit flavors.

Royal Family is a brand famous for its Japanese-style rice cake.

As for lifestyle, the pop-up store introduced Filipino consumers to Sakura, one of the best brands in integrated kitchenware; KTV-Brio, the smart mobile product manufacturer; O’Ringo, a well-known handmade leather shoe brand in Taiwan; and Kimo Footwear, which adopts German design to Asian needs to design comfortable shoes.
