MANILA, Philippines – Three-peat champion San Beda will be entering this year’s Final Four as the top-seeded squad after repulsing San Sebastian, 71-65, in the playoff duel for the No. 1 semifinals spot in the 85th NCAA men’s basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City today (Oct. 14).

With the victory, the Red Lions will be pitted against fourth-seeded Letran in the semifinals while enjoying a twice-to-beat edge.

San Sebastian, on the other hand, will be facing No. 3 seed and last year’s runner-up Jose Rizal University.

Borgie Hermida once again proved to be the key spark for the Lions as he scored 18 points, dished out three assists and had two swipes. He previously stood out with 12 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 71-67 victory over the Stags on Monday.
