Parenting column receives backlash, Christine Bersola-Babao tweets apology

MANILA, Philippines - An article written by columnist Tintin Bersola-Babao has become a hot topic in social media since being posted online yesterday.

The article "Being Gay" under PARENTIN TALK, which also came out on print in the March 11, 2013 issue of The Philippine Star, earned mostly negative comments from the online community.

As of this writing, the article has been tweeted 4137 times and has over 19,000 shares on Facebook.

no offense to the G/LB community, , but if your questioning@ Christine's parenting/opinion, and think its discrimination on your end,, ask your parents to explain to the Netizen why you become gay/lesbian ?? or explain yourself y u became a gay/or a lesbians,, there is no one born G or LB, nor it's hereditary ,,, if you know your Biology,, there is only Xx (boy) and Xy (girl) chromosome in your genes, additional x or y chromosomes means you have a down syndrome..you don't know how much a disappointment and hurt to parents this kind of things , even if your parents/family says they love you,, they will never say that they were disappointed to hurt their kids feelings nor admit that they made some mistakes..
