Chavez sa MRT mess: Hindi naman pwedeng isisi lagi sa nakaraan

MANILA, Philippines – Nagbitiw na bilang undersecretary for railways ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) si Cesar Chavez ngayong Huwebes dahil sa mga aberya na inaabot ng Metro Rail Transit Line 3.
Sa kaniyang irrevocable resignation para kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, sinabi ni Chavez na nagbitiw siya dala ng delicadeza.
“I hope the President understands that in the light of recent events involving the MRT 3 system, simple sense of delicadeza (propriety), which I have adhered to throughout my professional life gives me no choice but to resign from my said position,” nakasaad sa liham ni Chavez.

Nito lamang ay kumalas ang isang bagon ng MRT at bago nito ay isang babae ang naaksidente at muswerteng naikabit pa ang naputol na braso matapos mahulog sa gitna ng dalawang bagon sa Ayala station.
“It also my intent and hope that that my resignation provides opportunity for the appointment of person better qualified to perform the duties and responsibilities of the subject office,” dagdag niya.
Inako ni Chavez ang responsibilidad sa problema ng mga MRT kung saan sinabi niyang iwasan na dapat ang sisihan.
“I am tendering my irrevocable resignation. Hindi naman pwedeng lagi tayong naninisi sa nakaraan. Responsibilidad na namin ito,” sabi ng nagbitiw na undersecretary.
Nitong kamakalawa ay kinasuhan ng plunder ng DOTr ang mga dating gabinete ng Aquino administration kaugnay ng umano’y maanomalyang P3.8-billion maintenance contract para sa MRT.
Kabilang sa kinasuhan si dating Interior Secretary Mar Roxas na pinagtawanan lamang ang hakbang ng kasalukuyang gobyerno.
