Ex-N. Samar congressman, DSWD  officials sabit sa P62M pork scam

MANILA, Philippines -  Nakakita ang tanggapan ng Ombudsman ng probable cause para kasuhan si ex-Northern Samar Rep. Emil Ong sa Sandiganbayan dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.  

Si Ong kasama ang 24 iba pa ay nahaharap sa patong-patong na kasong kriminal dahil umano sa paglustay sa P62 mil­yong PDAF ni Ong noong 2007 hanggang 2009.

19 na counts ng paglabag sa graft at 12 counts ng malversation thru falsification of public documents at 7 counts ng malversation ang ipinakakaso ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales kay Ong.

Kapwa akusado ni Ong si ex-DSWD secretary Esperanza Cabral, DSWD Undersecretary Luwalhati Pablo, Assistant Secretary Mateo Montaño, Director Deseree Fajardo, staff members Joselita Enciso at Leonila Hayahay. 

Ang pondo ay para sana sa mga constituents ni Ong sa 2nd district ng Northern Samar bilang livelihood capital assistance, pamamahagi ng fruit at vegetable seedlings, vermi-culture livelihood training packages, distribution ng off-season vegetables, trainings, at manuals. 

Pinili ni Ong ang DSWD, NABCOR at NLDC bilang implementing agencies katulong ang ECOSOC, GDFI at ITONAMI bilang NGO project-implementers.

Gayunman, napatunayan ng Ombudsman na ang proyekto ay naging ghost projects dahil hindi nakarating sa mga benepis­yaryo nito ang naturang mga proyekto.
