MANILA, Philippines — There is not only one but two international pop groups in Manila today.

Besides the British rock band Coldplay that will have its first Philippine concert in Mall of Asia Arena tonight, American girl group Fifth Harmony is also in Manila for its first Asian tour and April 5 concert at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The concert’s organizers told Philstar.com that the girl group arrived in Manila last Sunday night and have stayed in the hotel to rest and prepare for their first Manila concert. The organizers, however, did not disclose if the group is watching the Coldplay concert tonight.

Prior to Manila, Fifth Harmony came from Taipei and Hong Kong for its 7/27 Tour.

In an interview with The Philippine Star, Fifth Harmony members said the first thing they will do upon arrival is to eat a lot. The group also admired Filipinos’ talent in music.

In their concert tomorrow, Fifth Harmony will be fronted by the Filipino-American, all-male group, Filharmonic.

A product of “The X Factor US” second season, Fifth Harmony was formed in 2012 originally consisting of Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello. Last year, Cabello left the group to reportedly go solo.

The group has been best known for its hits like “Miss Movin’ On,” whose music video won the group the MTV Video Music Award for Artist to Watch.

The team’s debut studio album, “Reflection,” includes the platinum hits “Sledgehammer,” “Worth It” and “Boss.”

“Worth It” reached the triple platinum status in the US and was in the top 10 in 13 countries.

The group’s latest album “7/27” released last year includes “Work from Home,” which has become Fifth Harmony’s first top 10 single on the US Billboard Hot 100 and said to be the first top five by a girl group in a decade on the chart.

For its Manila concert, Fifth Harmony promises that its Filipino fans will have lots of fun.
