Resignation letter isinumite na ni VP Leni sa Malacañang
MANILA, Philippines - Isinumite na kahapon sa Malacañang ni Vice Pres. Leni Robredo ang kanyang resignation bilang chairperson ng Housing, Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).
Natanggap ng Office of the Executive Secretary (ES) ang resignation letter ni VP Robredo bandang alas-9:07 ng umaga.
Nakasaad sa sulat ni Robredo na “your directive for me to desist from attending all cabinet meetings has effectively made it impossible for me to do my job. Remaining in your cabinet has become untenable. With due respect, I am tendering my resignation as HUDCC chairperson effective immediately.”
Magugunita na nakatanggap ng text message si Robredo mula kay Secretary to the Cabinet Leoncio Evasco Jr. kamakalawa kung saan ay ipinarating ni Pangulong Duterte na huwag na itong dumalo sa mga Cabinet meeting.
Samantala, bukod kay Robredo ay nakatanggap din ng katulad na text mula kay Sec. Evasco si CHED chairperson Patricia Licuanan na huwag na din dumalo sa Cabinet meeting.
“I assured Sec. Evasco that I would comply. In the meantime, I will continue my work as Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education,” wika ni Licuanan pero nanindigan na hindi magbibitiw bilang CHED chairperson dahil may fixed term ito hanggang 2018.
