Tax exemption sa mahihirap suportado ng solon
MANILA, Philippines - Suportado ni Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco ang plano ng Department of Finance (DOF) na mabigyan ang mga mahihirap ng mas malaking income tax exemption.
“I support the Finance department’s move to remove the income taxes of low-income earners and to reduce the income taxes of middle-income earners. We have the same goal in mind: to eliminate the iniquitous tax burden among individual taxpayers especially the poor. My office is ready and willing to work with them to ensure the swift passage of the tax reform program. It’s high time our taxpayers enjoy their hard-earned money,” wika ni Rep. Tiangco. Ayon kay Tiangco, ang kanyang panukala sa Kamara na House Bill 411 ay halos kapareho ng itinutulak ng DOF.
Sabi ni Tiangco, itinutulak ng kanyang panukala na HB 411 na itaas ang income tax exemption sa mga sumasahod ng hindi tataas sa P360,000 taun-taon.
‘It also seeks to give the low- and middle-income earners an adjusted, restructured and revised income-tax bracket that will approximate current consumer prices, which will, to a certain extent, increase their real purchasing power.’ ayon kay Tiangco.
Bukod dito, inihain din nito ang HB 947, na may layunin na bigyan laya ang mga public school teachers, health workers, pulis, military uniformed personnel sa pagbabayad ng income tax.
