PNoy sa hatol ng SC kay Arroyo: Walang krimen? Walang dapat managot?

MANILA, Philippines — Sa pagpapalaya ng Korte Suprema kay dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, tanong ng dati ring Pangulong Benigno Aquino III kung sino ang dapat managot sa nawawalang pondo ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Sinabi ni Aquino na kung pinaboran ng mataas na hukuman si Arroyo ay tila walang nangyaring anomalya at tama ang naging paggamit sa intelligence fund ng PCSO.

"By ordering the release and exoneration of Mrs. Arroyo, what is the Supreme Court saying: That nothing anomalous transpired? That no crime happened? That no one should be held to account? That the funds were used properly?" pahayag ng kabababa lamang sa pwestong si Aquino.

Tinukoy ni Aquino ang mandato ng PCSO sa Republic Act 1169 na mangalap ng pondo para sa pangkalusuguang progama ng gobyerno at pagbibigay ng tulong medikal kaya naman ipinagtataka niya kung bakit inilipat ang pondo nito sa Office of the President noong nanunungkulan pa si Arroyo.

Umabot sa P365 milyon na pondo ang iniliat na para umano sa pagtitiyak ng seguridad sa "bomb threat, kidnapping, destabilization and terrorism."

"Reviewing RA 1169 and the actions approved by Mrs. Arroyo, one may wonder: Were such acts allowable under the law?" ani Aquino.

"I wonder: What kind of superior espouses such practice? How does one justify mismanagement to such a degree? With Mrs. Arroyo giving acquiescence and approval, doesn't this make her also accountable?" dagdag niya.

Sa botong 11-4 ay pinaboran ng Korte Suprema si Arroyo dahil sa kawalan anila ng ebidensya.
