Sun Cellular payments through Smart Money

-

MANILA, Philippines - Take a break this summer, book that out-of-town trip, and still pay your utility bills with just a few clicks on your mobile phone via the country’s first and largest electronic wallet service, Smart Money. And now, that includes paying Sun Cellular postpaid bill.

“With the expansion of Smart Money’s bills payment services, nearly two million Smart and Sun Cellular postpaid subscribers can now enjoy hassle-free bills settlement. We offer them the convenience of paying their bills securely through their mobile phone even after office hours, even when they are out of town,” Tricia Dizon, head of Smart’s financial services team, said.

“This new service is just one of our ways of thanking our loyal subscribers for making Smart and Sun Cellular the new postpaid leader,” Dizon added.

Smart’s parent company Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) acquired a majority stake in Sun Cellular operator Digital Telecommunications Philippines Inc. (Digitel) last year.

To apply for a Smart Money card online at http://smart.com.ph/apply/money/apply.aspx, or visit any Smart store or BDO branch with a valid ID and a Smart or Talk ‘N Text number.

“You have the option to link your Smart Money account to your bank account through the mobile banking service, so you can load funds into your Smart Money account using your mobile phone anytime, anywhere,” she explained.

To pay Sun Cellular bill using Smart Money, just choose “Pay Bills” then “Others” on the mobile phone’s Smart Money menu, key in the Sun Cellular biller code (03007), type the billing account number, and indicate the amount to pay.

To make sure no one else is tinkering with your Smart Money account, your phone will prompt you to key in your six-digit W-PIN code. You will then receive a free text message confirming that your Sun Cellular bill has been paid.

“Smart Money’s partnership with Sun Cellular has just begun. Our account holders and subscribers can look forward to more convenient services from Smart Money and Sun Cellular,” Dizon said.

Smart will continue to find ways to enhance the overall experience of its customers across all points of contact. Through this partnership/synergy with Smart Money, it strives to establish yet another convenient means for Sun subscribers to pay their bills.

Subscribers can also use Smart Money to pay for Manila Water, Sky Cable, and ZPdee bills. It can likewise be used to transfer money to 49 million Smart subscribers, do cashless shopping in more than 32 million MasterCard-accredited merchants worldwide, buy products from 350,000 online MasterCard merchants, reload Smart prepaid account, receive remittances from more than 95,000 partner-agents all over the world, and withdraw cash from over 9,000 BDO Unibank, BancNet, MegaLink, and ExpressNet automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide and from Cirrus ATMs abroad.
