1 dead, 12 hurt in Cagayan road mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines  – A student died and 12 others were injured in separate road accidents in Cagayan on Wednesday.

Josef Luczon, 17, was reportedly racing with another motorcycle driven by Jane Casauay when they collided then rammed an electric post along the highway in Barangay Baggao in Camalaniugan town.  Luczon died at the scene.

Casauay and her companions Eden Aruallan, 14, and Jemica Andres, 12, were confined in a hospital.

Meanwhile, nine persons were injured when a truck hit a passenger jeepney along the highway in Barangay Teresa in Iguig.

Responding policemen arrested the driver of the truck, Pedro Mola, 59.
