CEBU, Philippines — Gikoronahan isip Miss Lapu-Lapu 2017 ang 16-anyos nga si Samantha Faye Yapit kinsa maoy labing bata nga kandidata.

Siya tinun an sa Science and Technology Education Center (STEC) sa Lapu-Lapu City nga nagkuha og curriculum nga STEM isip grade 11 student.

Matud ni Yapit nga unang higayon nga niapil siya og beauty pageant ug wala siya magdahum nga maapil sa top 5. Pangandoy sab hinoon niya nga mahimong usa ka beauty queen.

Usa sa iyang mga advocacies ang pagpapas sa kakabus ug kagutom sa nasud.

Ang tubag sa question and answer mao ang nakapadaug ni Yapit sa pangutana nga, "Being the future ambassadress of Lapu-Lapu, how do you exemplify beauty that chronicles history.”"

Iyang tubag mao nga, "The phrase beauty that chronicles history perfectly fits what Lapu-Lapu is all about. The two most significant things that promote or support beauty that chronicles history are first, the historical sites here in Lapu-Lapu City and second, the people living in it which is the Opongonon. And if ever I would to be crowned as Miss Lapu-Lapu 2017, then I would not just only wear the crown in my head but also in my heart.”

Nakoronahan usab sila si Krystyl Jan Babon, 4th runner up; Betty Ompad David, 3rd runner-up; 2nd runner-up si Charmaine Mae Mejares ug 1st runner-up si Madeleine Siewert.

Si Siewert ang nakakuha sa daghang awards lakip na ang best in casual wear, best in production, Miss Skin Doctors, Miss Ever Bilena ug best in evening gown.

Si Rey Gabriel Gonzaga Congson, designer sa gown ni Siewert, mao ang nadeklarar nga mananaug isip best gown designer. Best in swimwear sab si Harrah Borja Cruto ug Miss Photogenic si Elvie Cabalhug
