Iris Mariani B. Algabre - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Police Station acting chief, Supt. Aileen Recla has been relieved from her post and will be reporting back to Camp Crame upon the order of the Philippine National Police leadership.

According to Recla, she has yet to learn the reason behind Crame’s decision.

“Wala pa ko kahibaw sa reason (why she was relieved). Basta ako heads up ko ana whatever issue nga ihatag nila sa akoa, musalig man ko sa atong investigating team nga mu-validate ana,” said Recla.

Recla said that the turnover of the post to the new city police chief will probably happen this Thursday.

She confirmed that after the turnover, she will immediately report back to the national headquarters.

Meanwhile, Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas has mandated retired General Cecil Ezra Sandalo to lead the Talisay City Police Station while waiting for the next chief to be appointed.

Gullas is hopeful that the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) will quickly act on the appointment of Recla’s replacement.

"Tagaan sad ang Talisay ug even if a non-lieutenant colonel, even a major basta maayo lang unya soon,” he said.

Gullas admitted that he was not informed about the reason why Recla has been recalled to report back to headquarters.

“They must have their reasons,” he said, adding that he will not object and will respect the decision of the CPPO.

Gullas expressed that he was satisfied with Recla’s performance as chief of Talisay police.

He added that his challenge to the incoming city police chief is to continue the operations against the illegal drugs that Recla had started. (FREEMAN)
