Now that the campaign is over, second-termer Board Member Gary Estrada (Quezon Province Second District) and wife Bernadette Allyson will have time to concentrate on their joint “project” — that is, to have a son.

The phenomenal rise of Grace Poe in the senatorial race is as amazing as her life story that is stranger than fiction.

Of course, the Poe Factor, plus those endearing TV endorsements from her mom Susan Roces (Still The Face That Refreshes), propelled Grace Poe to the top of the roster of senatorial winners, something Grace can’t quite believe up to now because, she said, landing on a “safe spot” among the Top 12 was good enough for her.

That question mark(?) in today’s headline eloquently defines Ogie Alcasid’s present status — you know, is he or isn’t he leaving GMA, his home for years, and moving to TV5 (whose big boss, Manny V. Pangilinan, is Ogie and wife Regine Velasquez’s wedding godfather)?

Even if she has been eating more since the start of the campaign, Annabelle Rama (who’s running for congresswoman in the North District of Cebu) has been losing weight and she tells Funfare why.

Really now, was it four decades and five years ago that Susan Roces and Amalia Fuentes did a movie together (that is, outside of their mother studio, Sampaguita Pictures), titled Cover Girls (with Bob Soler and the late Tito Galla as leading men), produced by Susan’s then boyfriend (later husband) Fernando Poe Jr.’s Jafere Productions? Heralded the movie’s blurb: “The country’s top and most glamorous stars…gloriously reunited in the year’s most fabulous motion picture.”

Unless somebody surfaces at the last minute and waves a “birth certificate” claiming that he or she is, ehem, “one of them,” as of press time yesterday (6:30 p.m.), Regal Matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde has publicly recognized 15 “children” out of wedlock (as in mga anak sa labas) in addition to her and (Father) Remy Monteverde’s five legitimate children (Winnie, Roselle, Meme, Dondon and Goldwyn).

When his name was dragged (as “beneficiary”) into the scandal of the alleged cheating in the 2007 elections, Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri (who placed No. 12) promptly resigned and earned praises for it.
