‘Vintage Vitalis’ at Alliance Française

Alliance Française de Manille’s Total Gallery presents Macario Vitalis’ paintings and drawings from the ’30s to the ’60s in “Vintage Vitalis,” which opens on March 1, 6:30 p.m., at Alliance Française de Manille, 209 Nicanor Garcia St., Bel Air 2, Makati City. The show runs until March 31.

The exhibit is curated by Ofelia Gelvezon-Tequi and Claude Tayag, who both knew Vitalis personally.

Vitalis never kept a “stock” of his own works. The paintings and drawings presented are mostly drawn from private collectors who had patiently sought them out in flea markets and auctions in France. Majority of the works are from the estate of art patron Camille Renault.
