MANILA, Philippines — Having cerebral palsy did not stop Jennica Garcia from achieving her dreams.

Despite her condition, Jennica finished a degree in Finance Accounting and passed the teachers’ licensure exam. For this, Jennica has been recently crowned Miss Possibilities 2017. Miss Possibilities is said to be the first pageant in Asia for children with special needs.

Since 2015, it has become a tradition for the special needs community to gather together for one special night to celebrate their achievements, talents, and importance to the society. With its core theme “Beauty Knows No Boundaries,” the pageant, in its third instalment, also featured the overwhelming support of influential celebrities who joined the French-themed fashion show with children from the special needs community.

Tech giant Oppo fully supports the Miss Possibilities Foundation in its aim to raise awareness for equal treatment. The company supported all pageant contestants by giving them their own smartphones to enable them to capture moments and share their experiences online as they, too, have the equal opportunity to explore and experience the social media world.

“We fully support the advocacy of Miss Possibilities Foundation in giving people with special needs equal treatment in society today. The aim of ending the use of the ‘R’ word is very admirable and should be encouraged as this is a start to having a better future for our society,” said the company’s Philippine Public Relations Manager Eason de Guzman.

“Miss Possibilities Foundation gives those with special needs a platform to be celebrated without being judged or excluded because of their differences,” said Suzanna Yuzon, Founder and President of Miss Possibilities Foundation.

Miss Possibilities will continue its advocacy in 2018 with more medical missions, workshops, and other programs for families with special needs.

The pageant was also announced during the National Selfie Day last November 30 at the Enchanted Kingdom.

Since the Philippines is said to be the “selfie capital of the world,” has come up with a National Selfie Day last by treating its loyal fans to a magical day at Enchanted Kingdom and announcing the National Selfie Day online contest, with more than 100 phones to be given away this Christmas season. Also announced was the flagship limited edition red F5 6GB that will be exclusively available at the brand’s concept stores nationwide starting December 9. Every purchase comes with a free Olike Bluetooth speaker.

With various picturesque and selfie-worthy spots around Enchanted Kingdom, fans captured each moment using their F5 phones with itsc20MP A.I. front camera and 16MP rear camera.

“National Selfie Day is both a celebration and a reward to our fans for their undying loyalty and support to the brand. And what better way to celebrate this day than to share this with people that matter to them the most, their family and friends,” said De Guzman.
