IN PHOTOS: ‘Ma Rosa’ cast represents Filipino talent at 69th Cannes International Film Festival
MANILA, Philippines - The brilliant filmmaker, Brillante Mendoza returns to the 69th Cannes Festival with a new film exposing the corruption in the Philippines, Ma’Rosa.
Brillante, along with some of the film casts - Jaclyn Jose, Andi Eigenmann, Maria Isabel Lopez, John Paul Duray, Jomari Angeles, Ruby Ruiz, Neil Ryan Sese - flew to the South of France to compete for the grand prize.
They were also joined by screenwriter Troy Espiritu, producer Lorenzo Larry Valenzona and assistant director Raymund Gutierrez.
In 2009, Mendoza bagged an award for the festival’s best director category, for the movie “Kinatay.”
The 2016 Cannes Film Festival began on May 11 and will end May 22.
