The country’s biggest power distributor —the Manila Electric Co. or Meralco — recognized the contribution of outstanding organizations in helping the country achieve a brighter future during the “Meralco Luminaries” awarding ceremonies held at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La at the Fort with government officials and industry leaders present.
In his welcome remarks, Meralco president Oscar Reyes thanked the power distributor’s partners for their important and valued role “in the continuing journey to a brighter nation built by stronger partnerships,” and the future of possibilities that the company strives to create for every Filipino.
“You have honored us with your presence as we celebrate our successes, recognize current achievements and look forward to the best that is yet to come,” Reyes said.
Although Meralco chairman Manny Pangilinan was in Bangkok attending an investors’ conference, he led the toast through a video message that was shown during the event, extending his congratulations to the awardees in the various categories that include local government units, large corporate commercial and corporate industrial companies as well as small- and medium-scale businesses.
The awardees were recognized not only for their leadership and innovation, but also for their ability to utilize energy resources in an efficient manner, in the process contributing to nation building and job creation.
