At the event, Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi paid homage to the rarest of all South Sea Pearl varieties: the golden pearl. Gracing the by-invitation-only affair was Jewelmer’s image model and reigning Miss Universe-Philippines Maxine Medina. The well-attended occasion showcased the latest pearl collections at the lobby of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. There was also a photo exhibit that featured the pearl farms and the people of Palawan.
Since its official launch in Japan two years ago, the Philippine gem has created a strong presence and following among the illustrious Japanese set and is now in three Mitsukoshi department stores.
