DrinkManila launches thirst-quenching site

THIS WEEK ON PEOPLEASIA - The Philippine Star

Stargate Media Corp., the publishing company of PeopleAsia magazine, partnered with the MFCB Group to launch DrinkManila.com, the country’s first online magazine that features articles, news and events that have to do with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Designed to be very reader friendly, visitors will find it easy to navigate the site, whose stories showcase the unique drinking culture of Filipinos. Drinking aficionados will enjoy going through the contents that include “Behind the Bar,” which features people who make drinking experiences even more enjoyable with their unique concoctions; “Bar Find,” which gives the lowdown on bars around the metro — where they are located, the drinks featured and the price range; “Recipes,” which, as the title suggests, shares easy-to-follow drink recipes that people can mix at home; and “Drinking 101” with such stories as “How famous cocktails got their names” and “Hangover remedies.”

The site also features event launches, latest trends and developments, product reviews and drink destinations located outside Metro Manila.

MFCB Group CEO Arnold Liong’s expertise in the advertising and digital industry as DrinkManila’s president is complemented by the young team of Tatum Ancheta as editor-in-chief and restaurateur Icy Mariñas as marketing director.

During the launch at Hooch Bar in Makati City, guests, including a mix of Manila’s hip crowd and corporate honchos in the beverage industry, were all in high spirits. They enjoyed the overflowing drinks like the creative concoctions from the bar, served by the friendly staff. All of these contributed to the success of the event.
