National Culinary Team Philippines: The best in Asia
MANILA, Philippines – The largest and most prestigious culinary competition in Asia saw the National Culinary Team Philippines bag the coveted Best Culinary Establishment prize. The team won a total of 17 medals (four Gold, seven Silver and six Bronze) in 17 culinary and pastry events.
The team composed of 24 veteran and junior chefs from LTB Philippines Chefs Association and the Pastry Alliance of the Philippines bested teams from Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia at the recent FHA Singapore Culinary Challenge 2016 held at the Singapore Expo recently.
The winning chefs are Neptune’s Catch’s Kenneth Cacho, International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management chef instructor Rudolph Cabuay, Global Academy instructor Gerhard Oscar Gendrano, First Foods Corp. executive chef Mia Carla Yan, Sumo Sam chef consultant Sonny Mariano, Lyceum of the Philippines University students Sonny Mariano, Janemar Gyle Gicana, Holly Ann Manuel, Jonathan Miranda, Anthony Segubiense and Jireh Rodriguez, Bistro Group executive chief Josh Boutwood and pastry chefs Francis Oliveros of City of Dreams Hyatt Casino and Julius Conde of EDSA Shangri-La.
The team is supported by team manager James Antolin of Antolin Culinary Consultants, assistant team manager Mia Carla Yan and culinary team coach Carlo Miguel of 71 Gramercy and Draft, together with team advisers Norbert Gandler of ISCAHM, Fernando Aracama of Aracama Filipino Cuisine, J.
