MULTIPLE CHOICE - Luis Espiritu Jr. - The Philippine Star

Paris, the City of Light, is preparing for the Fashion Week that begins next week. While Parisian designers are all geared up to unfold their Autumn/Winter ‘16-‘17, the best of the new in fashion from all over the world participate in this most prestigious global trade show — Premiere Classe.

Known for showcasing next season’s accessory trends, the discerning and globally recognized name Joanique is a purveyor of style in high-end jewelry, footwear, leather goods, accessory designers and labels. This season, the Filipino brand once again takes part in the esteemed show with its latest collection Maskara-II Metalized. Due to the success of Maskara SS ‘16 in the global market, which appeared on WGSN’s trend forecast for Summer ‘16, Joanqiue extended the collection to its second season.

Maskara-II Metalized is a collective of contemporary accessories that highlights metallic hand-carved and painted wooden clutch slings with a total of six designs for bags, with two to four colors per design. For Autumn/Winter, these handmade creations come in the next seasons’ up-and-coming most-wanted hues and luxe metals apt for the trends to come. Aside from the unique bags, Joanique will also showcase its Maskara design jewelry and Piek (Spike) collection. White howlite and black jasper set in black rhodium plating present a different approach to luxury.

Joanique once again takes inspiration from its roots. MassKara is the celebrated festival of masks held in the southern city of Bacolod. Creativity springs from local culture and tradition to create unique pieces to form modern collections distinct from the rest of the world. Now on its fourth season in Premiere Classe, Joanique is one of the silent flag bearers (others include Bea Valdes, Rafe, Monique Lhuillier and Zacarias 1925) that make a mark in the global scene. It hopes to inspire others to brave the international landscape.

(Visit Joanique in Premiere Classe, Booth A17, from March 4 to 7 at Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, France.)
