Nicole Angela Reyes

Pinky S. Icamen - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Nicole Angela Reyes looks at life with a positive mind and a happy heart. She accepts differences in people that she meets and is always thankful for what she has.  Not afraid to try new things, Nicole embraces her everyday experiences and considers lessons in life to be her best mentors.

Twenty-two-year-old Nicole, daughter of dentist Charlie Atienza and wellness coach and Low-Cal Wellness Hub owner Stephanie Reyes, admits that most of her childhood was spent with her Mommy Marion Reyes, her grandmother, who passed away when she was 13.  “(Mommy Marion) was a very calm and patient person. I admire her for being kind and loving. When she died, it took a long time for me to realize that I just have to let go, move on and keep the good memories we shared,” says Nicole of her late grandmother.

Nicole, granddaughter of former Oriental Mindoro Vice Gov. Pedrito Reyes, shares: “I was not spoiled. I work hard for everything I want and everything I need. My dad taught me to always give importance to our family and I learned from my mom to dream big and aspire to do my best.”

As a child, one of Nicole’s ambitions was to be a dentist. With dreams of following the footsteps of her dad, she took up pre-dentistry at Emilio Aguinaldo College-Manila. But during her Dentistry proper year, she discovered a new world — modeling and doing events.

For more than a year now in her newfound career in modeling and events, self-confessed beach lover Nicole enjoys meeting new people, learning something new every day and cherishing every experience she encounters. “I don’t regret the decisions I made (in changing careers) because I love what I’m doing now. I have overcome my fear of failure because I realized that I become a better person whenever I commit mistakes. I learn from my mistakes. Whenever I do something, I just do my best and regret nothing,” reveals Nicole, who started modeling for a shoe brand when she was 14.

“I know modeling is not forever. I want to get further studies in Advertising and Marketing,” shares this beauty who sees herself as a more empowered woman in the future with the decisions she’s making today.

Working hard towards a goal makes Nicole happy and she sees beauty in positivity. She is set for a bright future as she is armed with tenacious spirit and guidance from people close to her heart.

“I always say a spontaneous prayer to ask for God’s guidance and thank Him for all the blessings He has given me and my family,” Nicole concludes.
