Korean celebrity chef returns to Manila

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - If you have been to any of the Chef’s Noodle branches recently, you probably have indulged in the restaurant’s Starking Fire Sushi. This bestseller and other appetizing dishes on the exciting menu of this favorite Korean master franchise restaurant were developed by no less than Korean celebrity chef Choi In Sun.

This month, Chef’s Noodle is bringing chef Choi back to the Philippines. The Korean celebrity chef starred in the popular Korean food show Starking Show. It was in this show that the charming chef popularized the Starking Fire Sushi, a flavorful dish composed of sushi rice topped with thinly sliced Australian beef torched and served with special sushi sauce.

When in Manila, chef Choi In Sun will be very busy with shoots and TV guestings to further promote what Chef’s Noodle can offer to the Filipino market. He will also delight the winners of the Chef’s Noodle Bibimbap Craze Contest through a meet-and-greet session on April 25 at Chef’s Noodle SM North EDSA.

To join the contest, just order any of Chef’s Noodle’s bibimbap dishes and take a picture with it. Send the photo to chefsnoodlephils@gmail.com with your full name, address, contact number and e-mail address. The first 50 contestants to send will receive one free bibimbap and an e-mail invitation to claim their prize at the meet-and-greet with chef Choi In Sun on April 25.

“Given his popularity and passion for Korean cuisine, chef Choi In Sun was the perfect choice to develop the menu of Chef’s Noodle. His mastery of the craft and creative cooking style only cemented the restaurant’s commitment to showcase what Korean dishes are made of,” says Nancy Go, operations manager of Chef’s Noodle. “Chef Choi In Sun has been here in Manila during our launch in 2012. He can’t wait to be back to share with Filipinos more of our brand of Korean dining.”

A welcome addition to the country’s dynamic dining scene, Chef’s Noodle has been one of the fastest-rising foodie havens in the Philippines. This comes as no surprise as the restaurant offers an impressive menu, which is a perfect blend of traditional Korean dishes with a modern touch.

Chef’s Noodle offers an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant designed its interiors to be visually appealing and cozy enough for diners. The interiors of the restaurant are sure to start a conversation among customers.

The restaurant also presents a wide array of gastronomic options for its diners. Among the must-try menu items at the restaurant include bibimbap, japchae, Haemul Seafood Pajun (Korean pancake with shrimp and squid, spring onions and bell pepper), Leek Shrimp Twigim, Chicken Kas (breaded chicken fillet with white creamy sauce), Spicy Dukbokki and well-loved desserts such as ice cream and gelato.

Visit its branches at University Mall, Taft Ave., Manila (405-0129), Atlanta Centre, Greenhills (576-5054), Robinsons Magnolia, Quezon City (656-7033), SM North EDSA-The Block (376-5367) and Robinsons Place Malolos, Bulacan (0917-5486187). Soon to open in SM Megamall.
