Agri firms showcase innovations in trade exhibit

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Feed manufacturing firm Sunjin Philippines, VAL-CO and Belmont Agricorp. will showcase their top-of-the-line innovations in Agrilink, Foodlink and Aqualink, the country’s biggest trade exhibition on agriculture, food and aquaculture, to be held from Oct. 5 to 7 at the World Trade Center.

Sunjin is involved in the manufacture of prepared feeds and feed ingredients for animals such as hogs and fowls. Present from Batanes to General Santos, it has feed milling plants in Bulacan and Batangas and in the planning stages of building new ones in Visayas and North Luzon regions.

The company has a presence in China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Indonesia.

It is also in the midst of putting up its second hog farm in Bulacan.

“We’ve also earmarked resources for our future meat processing business. We will also invest on animal diagnostic laboratories and launch agricultural publications as well as other related ventures. These are all aimed at ultimately uplifting the lives of the Filipino livestock farmers. We brought together groups of animal raisers and formed an avenue from where they can help each other,” said Han-Joo Lee, business unit head.

Among the projects of Sunjin is the key monitoring farm army (KMF), a program for transferring technology and disseminating information to hog farmers to help them become globally competitive livestock raisers while also maximizing the profitability of their agribusiness.

On the other hand, Engr. Antonio Dumrique, general manager of Team Agri Industrial Corp., said VAL-CO boasts of its combi-tunnel ventilation, an automated climate control system for poultry, hogs and egg production. Its ventilation system monitors and responds to changes in the nesting and containment facilities of the animals, from temperature, air speed, humidity and static pressure among others, in order to maintain a comfortable environment for the animals.

“Our combined ventilation systems are complemented by its cutting edge equipment and machineries. Its feeding and watering systems are fine-tuned to reduce waste, enhance feed conversion and maximize operational efficiency, from storage, delivery and distribution,” Dumrique said.

Belmont is one of the country’s major suppliers and distributors of agricultural equipment and technologies.

In addition to its incubators, feeders and waterers, brooders and ventilation equipment, Belmont also carries bagged and bulk grain storage, ship and barge unloaders, commercial dryers and feed-milling technologies.

“For over 39 years, our technologies have been utilized by big and small farmers. We represent leading companies and equipment lines from around the world, helping our stakeholder partners in the country address the overall performance of their farms by improving their farms’ production, bio-security and sustainability,” said Tony Magno, Belmont’s vice president for marketing.
