Jardine participates in Agrilink

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Jardine Distribution Inc. (JDI), a leading marketing and distribution company of agricultural products, recently joined the biggest and most influential agricultural trade exhibit in the country, Agrilink 2014 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

JDI participated in this year’s exhibit to create awareness among farmers on the latest innovations in agriculture including Seminis hybrid vegetable seeds, one of the latest additions to JDI’s growing portfolio of agricultural products.

“We find Agrilink to be a good venue to generate more awareness for Seminis as we strive to promote these hybrid vegetable seeds not only to help our partner farmers increase their income, but also help, in our little way, to ensure food supply given our growing population,” says Jayson Salazar, JDI product manager for Seminis.

“We feel that this even provides a good linkage between us and farmers, private companies and institutions who wish to improve their crop productivity,” Salazar adds.

Seminis offers a wide array of hybrid vegetable seeds that promise increased yield through the technology behind the development of each variety considering local farm conditions and resistance to pests and diseases.

Seminis varieties available in the Philippines include tomato, bell pepper, eggplant, onion, cucumber, watermelon, broccoli and sweet and waxy corn.

True to its philosophy of partnering with Filipino farmers, JDI stands out by providing Filipino farmers the best and most trusted products from different principals around the world. Aside from these products JDI also provides solutions to farmers through farmer education on safety, sustainable crop management and the proper use of the products JDI  offers.

“Our partner farmers can expect us to be more visible in these types of activities as our overall objective is to make our products available to more farmers and have them enjoy increased yield, higher quality produce and higher income,” Salazar concludes.

JDI is engaged in the marketing and distribution of leading agricultural products, applied construction materials and home pest solutions. Wholly owned by Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, JDI operates within the framework of Hong Kong-based Jardine Engineering Corp.
